Volunteer
GVFHRA thrives because of engaged members who care about the HR community and about staying connected. Volunteering is one of the ways members build relationships, contribute their skills, and support the work of the chapter.
We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, whether that means supporting a one-time event, serving on a committee, or taking on a board role. Involvement can look different for everyone, and we welcome members at all levels of availability.
To share a bit about how getting involved typically works, GVFHRA looks from within when considering board leadership. Most board members begin as active members and committee volunteers, which helps ensure a strong understanding of the chapter’s culture, priorities, and how we work together. This approach allows us to place people in roles that align with their skills, interests, and time commitment, while setting both the volunteer and the chapter up for success.
If you are interested in getting involved, we would love to connect and learn more about what you are looking for. Please reach out to [email protected].
Succession planning typically takes place between December and March. Board members and certain committee roles require dual members of SHRM National and GVFHRA.
