President's Message

President’s Message

Welcome to the Greater Valley Forge Human Resource Association (GVFHRA)!  We are excited to have you join this great community of HR professionals.  While I began this year as President Elect, like so many things in 2020, unexpected circumstances arose, and I assumed the role of President in September.  I’m thankful for a Board of Directors and Committee Chairs who have helped me make a smooth transition and continue to amaze me with their dedication and energy to work toward continuing to provide valuable programs, resources and networking opportunities for our members.

I don’t think any of us could have predicted back in March that we would not only still be facing challenges presented by the pandemic in the fall let alone well into 2021, but that seems to be exactly what we are facing at this point in time.  The word of the year seems to be “pivot” and that is exactly what our chapter has been able to do so successfully.  We didn’t skip a beat transitioning to a virtual platform.  While we can’t be together the way we were used to in the past, we have been successful in continuing to offer the educational, leadership and community outreach opportunities you have come to expect from our chapter.

We as HR professionals have been on the front lines during this pandemic helping our companies and our employees adapt to social distancing guidelines, remote working or a host of other challenges.  Know that as a member of GVFHRA, you are not alone.  You are part of a community of HR professionals from around the region who can share best practices, collaborate, and advance your career through educational opportunities.

I look forward to the day we can all meet again in person but until that time, know that we are busier than ever making sure we’re still able to connect and make an impact on your business, your career, and our community virtually.
