Board Overview

Executive Team Roles

President
Provides leadership to the chapter in alignment with SHRM policies, strategies, and objectives. Oversees effective chapter operations, supports the board, and ensures member needs are met. Serves as a voting member of the State Council.
One-year term.

President-Elect
Supports the President in leading chapter activities and assumes presidential duties when needed. Serves as a voting member of the State Council as required.
One-year term.

Immediate Past President
Advises the President, board, and committees by providing continuity, historical context, and guidance to support smooth chapter operations.
One-year term.

Presidents Circle
Comprised of past presidents who support strategic planning and continuity through advisory guidance and institutional knowledge.
Up to a two-year term.

Treasurer
Serves as the chapter’s financial officer, overseeing budgets, financial reporting, and IRS filings.
Three-year term.

Secretary
Maintains meeting minutes and chapter records, provides meeting notices, and preserves chapter history.
Up to a two-year term.

Committee Leadership Roles

Committee leaders oversee specific focus areas and work closely with committee members to advance the chapter’s mission and programming.

Community Partnerships & Workforce Development
Leads efforts related to workforce readiness, community education, and partnerships that support HR professional development.
Up to a two-year term.

Special Projects
Oversees the Silent Auction and SHRM Foundation initiatives, and supports special board or committee projects as needed.
Up to a two-year term.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEI&B)
Leads initiatives that promote inclusion, diverse leadership, and community-based DEI&B efforts within the chapter.
Up to a two-year term.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Coordinates committees responsible for Early Bird programming to deliver timely and relevant member content.
Up to a two-year term.

Programs
Oversees program operations, including speaker coordination and monthly meeting planning, to ensure high-quality programming.
Up to a two-year term.

Business & Career Relations
Leads sponsorship efforts, career-focused initiatives, and partnerships that support chapter sustainability and growth.
Up to a two-year term.

Marketing & Communications
Oversees communications, branding, and social media efforts to promote the chapter’s mission, events, and initiatives.
Up to a two-year term.

Professional Development
Supports member development through college relations, certification initiatives, and emerging leader programming.
Up to a two-year term.

Member Relations
Focuses on membership engagement, retention, recruitment, and ambassador-led outreach efforts.
