Diversity Award to E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company
The Greater Valley Forge Human Resource Association has presented E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company with the organization’s 11th annual Diversity Award for its commitment to promoting diversity in the work place.
Wilmington, Del.- based Dupont said the company has stressed and encouraged work place diversity in its facilities worldwide and has made its diversity program a strategic company initiative since 1985. Its goal is to create a “work place where all employees have the opportunity to do their best work and pursue their career goals, regardless of age, race, religion, national origin, color, gender, disability, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation or veteran status.”
Other award finalists, Aramark, Nationwide Insurance Co. and ACTS Retirement-Life Communities Inc., received certificates.
Before the spring dinner held at the Sheraton Park Ridge in King of Prussia, Pa., Deborah Caputo Rosen, RN, Ph.D., of the Temple University Health System led a roundtable discussion on “Diversity in Healthcare and the Service Sector.”
The dinner’s keynote speaker was Franne McNeal of HR Energy, a business coaching firm. She is the author of eight books and a national business plan competition judge.
Sponsors included Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and St. Joseph’s University, as well as Villanova University, Model Consulting, H.R. Backbone and Lee Hecht Harrison.
