President's Message

Greetings! Thank you for being a part of the Greater Valley Forge Human Resource Association. First, I'd like to welcome you to our new and improved GVFHRA website and member portal. It has been a few months in the making but we are ecstatic to share the enhanced functionality and ease of now registering for GVFHRA meetings and events. I'd like to give a special shout out to our Chapter Management Professional, Lori Stokes-Powers, and our President-Elect, Deb Kliman, for their help in making this website become live.

It is with great honor and privilege to serve as as your Chapter President for 2018-19. I'm proud to announce that this year's theme is "Reignite & Renew." While these may be 2 simple words, they hold a lot of power and meaning to me at GVFHRA.

To me it means:

  • Reigniting the energy in the chapter by offering best in class programming and chapter activities
  • Encouraging HR Professionals in the Western Philadelphia Suburbs to renew their memberships with SHRM and GVFHRA
  • Recertifying to keep our HR credentials alive and powerful
  • Revolutionzing the networking and collaboration amongst our fellow HR colleagues and peers in the HR community

All of this, plus more, is what makes GVFHRA one of the most premier business networking groups in the Philadelphia region. The Board of Directors and our Committee Chairs have a lot of great programs and networking opportunities in store for you this year. If you have not done so already, I encourage you to renew your membership with GVFHRA. Being apart of this chapter is not just about establishing business contacts and relationships, but it's about joining a community of like-minded HR professionals who can collaborate and best practice share with each other.

Below my picture is information regarding our next meeting. I encourage you to check us out and attend one of our upcoming programs!

As always, I welcome any ideas and/or feedback that you may have to help improve our SHRM Chapter. I hope to see you at our next event!

Cheers,
Caitlin Cocchi, PHR, SHRM-CP
